Diaries Of A Crazy Mad White Woman

What a month October was, and as much fun as I had I'm so glad it's behind me. Aside from my normal crazy schedule of YW meetings and mutual, helping in 3 classrooms at school weekly, swapping preschool with 5 3yr olds, doctor appointments, ortho appointments, scouts, activity days, soccer practice and games, chess club, scrapbook group...anyway, you get the point...October was all that and more. There were some weeks that I was gone every single night and then 3 weeks in a row that I was gone for the weekend and last but not least my annual tradition of taking on a couple classes for Super Saturday. Add to this craziness my trying once again to quit my Diet Coke/Diet Pepsi addiction and I feel as though I'm balancing on the edge of insanity. It's been almost 3 weeks (20 days to be exact) since I've last had a drink and I'm still fighting the urge daily, no wait, hourly. It took about 5 days of headaches and some serious OTC drugs to beat them but I'm still trucking along. I've heard that it takes about 3 weeks to break a bad habit and I'm counting down the minutes as I write. I thought it would be a lot easier but just like any other "addiction" it's a bugger to break. I think I'm gonna give it 'til Wed. at midnight and if it's still this hard I'm going to have to make a run for the corner gas station and pick something else to kick instead of my beloved dark master. Needless to say, I'm praying for extra will power with my scrapbook group meeting Tues. night - there's always plenty of DC on the table - oie vey!

After a full year of Diet Coke sobriety, I have fallen off the wagon. It's definitely become my dark master once again. Don't give in to temptation.....!!

Emily - Don't Do it! If it has that much of a hold on you... you need to find another satisfying (at the same time, low calorie) treat. Can you do cafeen free diet coke? I drink that at home.

sorry Caffeine - did you see how I misspelled that???? I wasn't paying attention and I'm a bad speller

I'm thoroughly impressed with your Diet Coke free life -- I second Jessica on finding something else that can somehow replace it. Good luck, and keep us posted. We'll be here!

Why even try. There's nothing wrong with it...at leasts that's what I say. I could be worse. At least your not sucking down bottles of vodka.

Sorry, IT could be worse...not I.
