Open Wide...

So, I guess it's a Sorensen trait to produce excess saliva. I didn't know it was something you could pass down, but since we all have it to some extent it must be hereditary. As far as my genes go it's not one I spend a lot of time thinking about. Sure there are the occasional "excited spits" and the "did I seriously leave that puddle on my pillow" episodes but all in all it hasn't been at the top of my "wish I could change this about myself" list. (There's simply no room for any more up there as it is!) I've been going to my dentist for well over 5 years now, he doesn't have the best bedside manners - one of my favorite responses:"Your guess is as good as mine." (Really???!!! Let's hope not, otherwise I want my money back.)He does have his good qualities though - coming in on Forth of July to perform a root canal for me - no extra charge, love his staff and he doesn't charge me for the small cavities ("You paid enough already"...thanks Doc.) All in all, not a bad guy, but... you would think after 5+ years of religious twice yearly attendance the guy would stop commenting on my excess saliva. "Wow, your a wet one", "This is really slippery" and "Boy your liquid-ey" (is that even a word?). I know, I know I should switch but like I said I love his staff and I only have to see him for about 5 minutes total so it's a fair payoff. Dr. Clark, I know I'm "liquid-ey", I can't do a dang thing about it, now let me pick what's left of my ego off the floor and I'll see you again in 6 months...slobber and all!
