The Pantry God
One of the many reasons that I love Darren is his knack for organizing. I can't tell you how many times I've come into the kitchen and he is well underway organizing the pantry or cleaning out the fridge. Between his obsessive-compulsive-ness and my freakish desire to have everything-in-its-place we are starting to create a monster...Reilly. She loves to organize anything and everything and she is constantly organizing our junk drawer. I've had to tell her not to get so bent out of shape when the drawer doesn't look good after 20 min. but she'll gladly tackle it again. She has actually asked me if she could organize her closet several different times and she'll even start to move onto Jacob's room when she is really on a roll. I always love it when Darren gets done with our pantry that I just had to share it with the rest of you. I'm the same way once I start to tare into our bedroom closet. I really want to get a folding board from Gap to really solidify the obsession. Anyways, I give Darren a hard time about his obsessive cleaning but it does really pay off for me so often. (funny side note: I go to meet with Reilly's teacher for parent teacher conference
and the first thing she has me do is scan the room. It's all pretty much in disarray until I get to her teacher cart. She goes on to tell me that Reilly has taken on the job of organizing her class room one project at a time, much to the delight of her teacher - a self proclaimed organized mess. A little peek into my ultra-obsessed-borderline-fanatic-almost-ridiculous life.

That's really funny Emily! Wendy was really organized growing up too, she would always go through my stuff and through out the stuff that she thought was junk.
Can I be in your family? I love the pantry. I dream of my house being ultra-organized all the time. All these extra people keep messing me up. I'm still waiting for one of them to get the gene. Alternately, can Reilly be in my family?
Sleeping With The Enemy meets Martha Stewart meets the Energiser Bunny= Darren. We love you for that.
Paul's Christmas present is going to be a bracelet engraved with WWDD? (what would Darren do?)
We went to a funeral yesterday and during the eulogy the speaker kept commenting on how J.D. was the kind of man who was always moving, always a project going. Paul leans over and whispers, "I am really good at hanging out". And he is. This is just one more reason for the bracelet.
