What The...

So I'm cleaning in the kitchen listening to my two older kids playing Apples to Apples with two neighbor kids and having a great time. Just as I'm starting to think that this is near motherhood perfection I start to listen a little more intently...what?! (For anyone that is not familiar with this fun game you have a green card in the middle with a word on it and everyone throws down one of the red cards in their hand with words that best describe the one in the middle - fun, easy game that my kids just started playing. )Well, I hear a debate going on as to the meaning of "sexual". Apparently, that is the card in the middle and they are trying to figure out the meaning so they can throw down their cards. I had NO IDEA that there was a card like that in the game and after the shock of that wore off I immediately told them to skip that card and go on with the next one. (Side note - listening to two ten year old girls speculating on the definition and trying to explain it to their two younger brothers is hysterical when it's not your kids.)Needless to say, I'll be purchasing the junior edition of this game so as not to worry about any other "secret" conversations going on in my very own family room...dude, the next card they drew was KKK! Alright - game over!

haha... Em that is hilarious. Joe and I love to play that game, but I can honestly tell you that I have come across some sketchy cards too... I can't imagine how weird that was to hear them discuss the meaning of sexual. We need to play that game some time... after the kids go to bed!

Kids are too funny. Did they seem annoyied when you had them stop playing or could they tell it was comming?

Ha, Ha! LOL. Good to know, considering my kids have played that a few times...hmmm I always thought it was an innocent enough game.

Maybe you could arrange to have that card come back up when they're around 10 or something, and segue into the "birds and bees" talk. IT'S GENIOUS!
